Store Locations and POS Configuration | Retail

Retail Core lets operators create store locations, link POS terminals to the right sites, and control which product buttons appear on each device screen from a single shop to a multi-location chain.

General

Manage one store or many with equal ease. Set up your physical locations as digital stores in Retail Core, connect each POS terminal to the right location, and control exactly which products and buttons appear on every screen.

๐Ÿช

One store or a nationwide chain - same tools, same ease.

This section walks you through setting up multiple store locations, connecting POS terminals to the right stores, and creating consistent screen experiences across your business. Whether you are running a single shop or scaling across locations, these tools help you maintain brand consistency while accommodating local needs.

How it fits together

Retail Core uses a three-level structure to connect your physical locations to your terminals and the products that appear on screen. Understanding this before you start avoids having to undo and redo configuration later.

Level What it is Where to set it
Store Location A physical site -- a shop, a counter, a department. Each store can have its own price list and tax settings. Admin Panel โ€บ Company โ€บ Locations
POS Terminal A single device (Nova Market, Nova 55F, etc.) linked to one Store. Determines which price list and preset the device uses. Admin Panel โ€บ Company โ€บ Locations โ€บ Add POS
POS Preset Group / Preset The product buttons a customer or staff member sees on screen. A Preset Group contains one or more Presets; one group is attached per terminal. Admin Panel โ€บ Company โ€บ POS Preset Groups / POS Presets

Set up in order: Create Store Locations first, then link POS terminals to those locations, then build Preset Groups and attach them to terminals. Skipping ahead means you will need to go back.

Before You Start

  • โœ… You have an active Retail Core account with Administration access.
  • โœ… Your company profile is already created in the Retail Core Admin Panel.
  • โœ… Your devices (Nova Market, Nova 55F, etc.) are physically installed and connected to the internet.
  • โœ… Your product catalog is set up with at least one active product and price in the Retail Core main portal.
  • โœ… You have the serial number for each device ready (found on the sticker on the back of the device or in the device Admin menu).

Store Locations

A Store Location is the digital representation of one of your physical sites in Retail Core. Each location can have its own price list, tax group, and set of POS terminals. Create a location for every site where you have one or more devices.

โ„น๏ธ
Price lists follow Stores: When you create a Store, you choose whether it follows the company-wide price list (By parent customer) or a store-specific list (By customer). This is how you run different prices at different locations from a single product catalog.

POS Configuration

Once your Store Locations exist, link each physical device to the right location and control exactly what appears on its screen. The three articles below cover the full setup: linking, grouping, and building the button layout.

Linking a POS terminal to a Store

Each device must be linked to exactly one Store Location. This determines which price list, tax settings, and reporting bucket the terminal belongs to. Enter the device serial number during setup to create the connection.

POS Preset Groups

A POS Preset Group is the container that holds one or more Presets together. Attach a whole group to a terminal in one step. If you update the group later adding a new seasonal menu, for example every terminal using that group picks up the change automatically.

๐Ÿ’ก
Name groups by location or occasion: For example, "Cafe Amsterdam - Counter" or "Summer Menu 2026". Clear names make it easy to attach the right group to each terminal, especially as your estate grows.

POS Presets

A Preset is one button screen for example "Coffee", "Soft Drinks", or "Lunch". Within a Preset you place product buttons or category buttons in a grid. Choose the number of columns based on your device: 4-5 columns for the Nova Market 15.6" screen, 3 columns for the Nova 55F.

โ„น๏ธ
Two button types: Use Group with buttons for a category that opens a sub-screen (best when you have many products). Use Item element on preset for a direct product button (best for a small set of best-sellers). The Style option visible in the UI is not currently available ignore it.

Enable Catalog Mode first: POS Presets only work when Catalog Mode is enabled for your account. Enable it via Administration โ€บ Parameters โ€บ Enable Catalog Mode. Without it, preset configuration is unavailable. Contact support if you cannot locate this setting.
