Understanding Monthly Reload & Reset for Prepaid

Monthly Reload & Reset can automate recurring credit on prepaid cards. Configure the reload amount and choose between accumulated (rollover) or reset (fixed budget) mode, eliminating manual top-ups.

General

Why Use Monthly Reload & Reset?

Monthly Reload automates recurring credit replenishment. Instead of manually adding credit to every card each month, configure it once and the system handles it.

Essential for:

  • Employee benefit programs with fixed monthly food allowances.
  • Subscription-style vending with monthly transaction counts.
  • Campus or institutional settings with auto-renewing student cards.

ℹ️ TIP

Combined with spending limits and group limitations, Monthly Reload creates a fully managed closed-loop system that runs on autopilot.

How It Works

At the start of each month, the system checks every card with a Monthly Limit Reload value and either resets or accumulates credit:

Setting

Behavior

Monthly Limit Reload

Credit loaded at month start.

Accumulated Credit ✅

Reload ADDS to existing balance (rollover).

Accumulated Credit ❌

Balance RESETS to reload amount (unused credit lost).

Single Use ✅

Disables monthly reload entirely.

Single Use ❌

Monthly reload active (if value > 0).

⚠️ NOTE

Monthly Limit Reload = 0 means no credit added. Different from Single Use - 0 keeps the card active but adds nothing.

✅ PREREQUISITES

  • A prepaid card exists.
  • You know the card’s Credit Type (Money or Transaction).

Use Case Examples

No Rollover: Monthly Reload = 100, Accumulated = ❌. Employee spent €70 in March (€30 left) > April resets to €100.

With Rollover: Monthly Reload = 100, Accumulated = ✅. €30 left + €100 reload = €130 in April.

Transaction Card: Monthly Reload = 30, Accumulated = ❌. Card resets to 30 vends each month.
