GENERAL ARTICLE Monyx Wallet and Nayax Prepaid How They Work Together Understand the connection between the Monyx Wallet app and your Nayax Prepaid cards, how consumers use the app to pay, top up, and earn rewards, and how operators control it all from Nayax Core. Audience: Operators | Distributors / Partners |
Nayax Prepaid is a closed-loop payment card that operators create and manage in Nayax Core. The Monyx Wallet app is the consumer-facing mobile app that connects to those Prepaid cards, giving cardholders a way to pay at machines, top up their balance, earn rewards bonuses, and join loyalty campaigns, all without carrying a physical card.
This article explains how the two products connect, what consumers can do through the app, and what operators need to configure in Nayax Core to enable each capability.
After reading this article, you will understand: the relationship between Prepaid cards and the Monyx Wallet app, the four ways a consumer can interact with a Prepaid card through the app, how revalue bonuses appear and apply in the app, and where each capability is configured in Nayax Core.
Before you start: You need at least one active Prepaid card created in Consumers > Card Management. Monyx Wallet must be enabled on your operator account. If the Campaign or Monyx Refund options are missing from your Consumers menu, contact your Nayax distributor.
The Connection Between Monyx Wallet and Nayax Prepaid
Nayax Prepaid and the Monyx Wallet app are two separate but connected products.

The connection works like this: when a consumer downloads the Monyx Wallet app and links their phone number, the app retrieves any Prepaid cards associated with that account. The consumer can then use their phone to pay at a Nayax machine, top up their Prepaid card balance, and see any active campaigns or revalue bonuses configured by the operator -- all without a physical card.
Key point: The operator creates and configures the Prepaid card in Nayax Core. The Monyx Wallet app is simply the consumer interface for that card. Everything the consumer can do in the app is controlled by the operator in Nayax Core.
What Consumers Can Do with Prepaid via the Monyx Wallet App
There are four ways a consumer can interact with their Prepaid card through the Monyx Wallet app.
1. Pay at a machine
The consumer selects the machine in the Monyx Wallet app (or scans a QR code on the machine), selects their Prepaid card, and initiates the transaction. If the consumer has only one valid Prepaid card, it is selected automatically. If they have more than one, a selection screen appears in the app.
The machine processes the transaction against the Prepaid card balance, exactly as it would with a physical card tap or swipe. No physical card is required.
Tip: The app shows the consumer their current Prepaid card balance before and after each transaction, so they always know what credit they have remaining.
2. Top up (Revalue) the card balance
Consumers can top up their Prepaid card directly from the Monyx Wallet app using a credit card. This is recorded as a revalue in Nayax Core with Revalue Method: Credit Card via Monyx App.
The top-up screen in the app shows the available amounts. If the operator has configured a revalue bonus, the bonus amount is displayed next to each top-up option so the consumer can see exactly what they will receive before confirming.
Note: Top-up via the Monyx app is only available if the operator has enabled revalue on the Prepaid card. If the Revalue option is restricted on the card, the Top Up button will not appear in the app.
3. Earn revalue bonuses
If the operator has configured a Reward Program in Nayax Core, consumers see the bonus options directly on the top-up screen in the Monyx Wallet app. The app displays up to three reward tiers, showing the top-up amount and the bonus the consumer will receive.
The bonus logic works as follows:
- The consumer selects a top-up amount.
- The app checks the amount against the configured reward tiers.
- If the amount meets or exceeds a tier threshold, the bonus is shown and applied automatically on confirmation.
- The bonus credit is added to the card balance in addition to the top-up amount.
Worked example: The operator has configured three tiers: top up 10 and get a 5% bonus (0.50 extra), top up 20 and get a 10% bonus (2.00 extra), and top up 40 and get a fixed 10 bonus. A consumer who tops up 20 via the app sees "20 + 2.00 bonus = 22.00 total" before confirming.
Important: The app only shows bonus options when exactly one operator reward program applies to the card. If the card has conflicting reward programs from more than one operator, no bonus is displayed in the app. If a reward amount is set to 0, no bonus is shown.
4. Join loyalty campaigns
Operators can create punch card campaigns in Nayax Core that appear in the Monyx Wallet app. Consumers see the campaign on the Campaigns screen in the app and earn stamps automatically with each qualifying purchase.
When the required number of purchases is reached, the consumer receives the reward (a free purchase) automatically. The operator sets the number of required purchases, the included machines and products, and the campaign duration -- all in Nayax Core.
Example: A buy-5-get-1-free campaign appears in the consumer's Monyx app, showing a punch card with 5 slots. Each purchase at a qualifying machine adds a stamp. On the 5th purchase, the free reward is applied automatically at the machine.

How to Configure a Revalue Bonus for the Monyx App
Follow these steps to configure a revalue bonus that appears in the Monyx Wallet app top-up screen, or click here for the full guide and video How to Set a Reward Program on Operator Level.
Step 1 - Navigate to the Reward Program tab
In Nayax Core, go to Administration > Operator. Locate your operator and click the Reward Program tab. You can configure up to 3 reward tiers.
Step 2 - Fill in a reward tier
For each tier you want to activate:
- Check the checkbox in the first column to activate the row.
- Under Revalue Amount, enter the minimum top-up amount that triggers the bonus.
- Under Amount Percentage, check the box if the reward is a percentage of the top-up amount, or leave it unchecked for a fixed currency amount.
- Under Reward, enter the bonus value.
Example tiers:
- Tier 1: Revalue Amount = 10, Amount Percentage checked, Reward = 5 -- consumer tops up 10, receives 5% bonus (0.50), total = 10.50
- Tier 2: Revalue Amount = 20, Amount Percentage checked, Reward = 10 -- consumer tops up 20, receives 10% bonus (2.00), total = 22.00
- Tier 3: Revalue Amount = 40, Amount Percentage unchecked, Reward = 10 -- consumer tops up 40, receives a fixed 10.00 bonus, total = 50.00
Step 3 - Apply to existing cards (optional)
Click Set To All Cards to apply the reward program to all cards currently under the operator, or Set To Empty Cards to apply it only to cards that do not already have a reward program.
Step 4 - Apply to future auto-created cards (optional)
Click the Auto PP Cards tab. Check Use Operator Reward Program. All Prepaid cards created automatically going forward will inherit the operator reward program.
Step 5 - Save
Click Save. The reward tiers will appear in the Monyx Wallet app the next time a consumer opens the top-up screen for a card under this operator.
Tip: Nayax recommends aligning your reward tier amounts with the default top-up amounts displayed in the app. This ensures consumers see the bonus options prominently on the top-up screen without needing to enter a custom amount.
