How to Set a Device to Inactive | Administration
Set a Nayax device to inactive in Nayax Core to stop billing on card readers that aren't in use and reactivate them instantly when you're ready to put them back in service. In that case, please contact Nayax Support.
Why Set a Device to Inactive?
If a card reader isn't in use, there's no reason to keep paying for it.
Setting a device to inactive in Nayax Core is the simplest way to pause billing on a card reader that's been removed from service, whether it's a seasonal machine that's been taken offline, a device waiting to be redeployed, or hardware that's been replaced by a newer unit.
An inactive device won't process transactions and won't appear on your billing statement. But it stays in your Nayax Core account, fully configured and ready to reactivate the moment you need it back in service. No setup required — just change the status back to Active and you're running again.
It's also the right step to take immediately after completing a device transfer. Once a device has been moved from one machine to another, setting the old device to inactive prevents you from being billed for hardware that's no longer connected.
Think of it as putting a device on pause, not deleting it, not losing any of its configuration, just making sure you're only paying for what's actively earning revenue.
