Overview

Pulse-based machine control uses brief electrical signals defined by duration and frequency to trigger vending actions. This guide covers recommended parameter values for both pulse modes on VPOS Media 4 and VPOS Media 4 Mini devices.

Single Price Mode
Fixed price for one service at one set cost. Ideal for photo booths, kiddie rides, and standard vending. No customer price selection required.
Multi Price Mode
Flexible pricing with price lists. The customer selects a product or service duration before paying. Use when your machine offers multiple price points.

Pulse Settings Best Practices

DO Keep Pulse Inhibit = 00 (Disabled)
Avoids accidental machine blocking. Leave at 00 unless hardware inhibit is wired.
DO Keep Post Delay = 15 sec for Single Price
Prevents the next customer from triggering an additional vend transaction.
DO Set Pulse IN Counter 1-6 = 0;0;0;0;0;0 (Disabled)
Enable only if required for cash reporting. For example, 1;0;0;0;0;0 triggers a report at the first pulse.
DO Use the correct Transaction Start Method for your device and mode
VPOS Media 4: Mag+Contactless+Contact for Single Price · Product selection for Multi Price.
VPOS Media 4 Mini: Contactless+Contact for Single Price · Product selection for Multi Price.
DON'T Use VPN mode
VPOS Media supports MQTT connectivity only.
DON'T Use "Accept All" as the transaction start method
"Accept All" is not a supported transaction start method for pulse configurations.
