What Is a Nayax Prepaid Card?

A Nayax Prepaid card is a closed-loop payment card that is not linked to a bank checking account. Instead, operators (or their end-consumers) preload the card with funds. The card can then be used to make purchases at the operator’s machines.

“Closed-loop” means every transaction stays within the Nayax ecosystem. The card balance, limits, and rewards are all managed by the operator in Nayax Core under Consumers >Card Management.

  • The cardholder loads funds onto the card (this is called a revalue).
  • The cardholder taps, swipes, or scans the card at a machine to make a purchase.
  • The purchase amount is deducted from the card balance in real time.
  • The operator sees every transaction in Nayax Core and can run reports on card usage.

Who Is Prepaid For?

Nayax Prepaid is designed for any operator who wants to offer their customers an alternative to cash or credit card payments. Common use cases include:

  • Vending operators offer loyalty rewards and reduce per-transaction fees.
  • Office and workplace environments provide employees with preloaded cards for cafeterias, coffee machines, or snack vending.
  • Laundry operators give customers a reusable card that replaces coins.
  • Campus and education integrate with existing student ID cards using the Custom 3rd Party ID format.
  • Car wash operators sell preloaded wash cards as a loyalty tool.
  • Low-connectivity locations use Prepaid with Offline payments (Deferred Online) where internet is unreliable.

How Do Cardholders Load Funds?

Loading funds onto a Prepaid card is called revaluing. Nayax supports 5 revalue methods:
