Multi-session with Pre-selection

The "Multi-session with Pre-selection" Marshall configuration allows a single payment device to manage multiple transactions in parallel over a single customer session. The process is split into two distinct parts:
  1. Product selection and authorization: The consumer's card is authorized based on an initial product selection (or a set value).
  2. Settlement: The final settlement occurs later, after the session is explicitly closed by the peripheral device, which can be anywhere from one minute to 71 hours after the initial authorization.
This configuration is typically used for services where usage duration or final cost is variable and determined after the initial interaction, such as EV chargers or locker/cart rentals.
The system enables product pre-selection before the payment is finalized and settled.
