Using QR Code with Prepaid Cards

General

You can represent a prepaid card as a QR code, and use it on the DOT QR Reader.

To do so, navigate to Consumers > Card Management and create a new prepaid card.

After creating the card, you need to format a QR code that will represent it.

There are many QR Generators online. Use an online QR generator that enables you to link the QR to a customized text.

In this guide, we used QR Code Monkey as an example for the screenshots.

In the text area of the QR code generator, enter the following prefix: NYXPP; (Uppercase, including the semicolon). Type the card's unique identifier right after the semicolon and generate the QR code according to this string.

For example: If your prepaid card's unique identifier is TESTQRPPCARD, then the text in the QR Generator should be NYXPP;TESTQRPPCARD

Then, scan this QR code in the DOT QR Reader, and the transaction will be paid via credit on the prepaid card.

Note: It is possible to use a prepaid card without the prefix when necessary (e.g., if the graphical format is a barcode that does not support letters). In case the string has only numbers, the device may be set to add the prefix automatically
