General
What are Pulse Modes?
Pulse modes are payment configuration methods that allow Nayax devices to communicate with pulse-operated machines. When a customer makes a payment, the Nayax device sends electrical pulses to the machine, telling it to activate and provide the service or product.
Think of pulses as the language your payment device uses to talk to your machine. Each pulse is a short electrical signal that the machine recognizes as credit, allowing it to operate for a specific duration or dispense a particular product.
Why Your Business Needs Pulse Modes
Pulse functionality is essential for businesses operating equipment such as:
- Laundromats - Washers and dryers
- Car washes - Automated wash systems
- Amusement venues - Arcade games, claw machines, kiddie rides
- Campgrounds - Shower facilities and utilities
- Vending operations - Air and vacuum stations
- Fitness facilities - Massage chairs and equipment
- Entertainment - Pool tables, jukeboxes, photo booths
- Public facilities - Lockers, charging stations, bathroom access
If your machine currently accepts coins or tokens, pulse mode allows you to accept cashless payments while maintaining your existing equipment. This means you can modernize your payment options without replacing expensive machinery.
Available Pulse Pricing Modes
Nayax offers three distinct pricing modes to match different business models:
| Pulse Mode | Best For | What it Does | Configuration Options / How it Works | Example | Key Features |
