Pay as You Go Pulse - Count-Up Mode | Configuration

Configure Nayax Count-Up Mode for car washes and showers. This guide explains pay-as-you-go logic, pre-authorization holds, and how Pulse Active/Inactive Time governs machine operation for precise billing.

General

Count-Up Mode is designed for high-duration applications like car washes, pet washes, or campsite showers, where the final price depends on the length of use.

The Transaction Process
  1. Authorization: The consumer swipes/taps their card. The system places a configurable pre-authorization hold (maximum charge) on the account.
  2. Activation: A start signal is sent to the machine. The VPOS/ONYX device maintains this signal to keep the machine active.
  3. Real-Time Tracking: The LCD display updates periodically, showing the user the current elapsed charge.
  4. Termination: The session continues until the user presses the "Stop" button or the maximum pre-authorized amount is reached.

Count-Up Active/ Inactive Pulse Timing Logic

Count-up machines are machines that receive pulses from an external source, rely on specific timing intervals to determine operational status:
  • Pulse Active Time: The duration during which the machine receives a signal and remains in operation.
  • Pulse Inactive Time: The designated interval where the signal is absent, triggering the machine to stop.
