Understanding the Three Models

Why are there three different VPOS Media models?

Different industries need different features. Rather than one bloated device trying to do everything, we have three optimized models. This keeps costs down and gives customers exactly what they need.

What’s VPOS Media 4?  The full-featured workhorse for vending and food service

Key Details:

    • Pin-on-Glass: Customer enters PIN on touchscreen (no physical buttons)
    • Protocols: Supports MDB, Pulse, Marshall, Cloud (most versatile)
    • Payment types: Contact, Contactless, Swipe, and all major wallets/cards
    • Primary use: Vending machines, coffee shops, food & beverage
    • Replacement for: VPOS Touch (direct drop-in replacement)

When customers should choose this: They need MDB protocol (common in vending), want PIN-on-glass for higher transaction limits, or are replacing old VPOS Touch devices.

Common support scenarios you’ll see:

    • MDB connectivity issues
    • Protocol configuration questions
    • Migration questions from VPOS Touch
    • PIN-on-glass troubleshooting

What’s VPOS Media 4 Mini?  The compact, budget-friendly option for outdoor and space-constrained installations.

Key Details:

    • Compact form: Smaller physical size for tight spaces
    • Protocols: Pulse, Marshall, Cloud only (NO MDB support)
    • Payment types: Contact and Contactless (no swipe)
    • Primary use: EV charging, parking, kiosks, laundromats, entertainment
    • Price point: Most cost-effective option

When customers should choose this: They need something small, don’t need MDB, work with pulse systems, or have budget constraints.

Common support scenarios you’ll see: Why doesn’t this work with my vending machine? (Answer: No MDB support > needs VPOS Media 4)

    • Outdoor installation connectivity issues
    • EV charging integration questions
    • Mounting and space questions

What’s VPOS Media 5?  The heavy-duty specialist for harsh environments, primarily fuelling stations

Key Details:

    • ATEX-certified: Safe for explosive atmospheres (gas stations)
    • Ruggedized: Built tough for extreme conditions
    • Large 4” touchscreen: Biggest screen of the three models
    • Protocols: Marshall ONLY (most limited protocol support)
    • Payment types: Contact, Contactless, Swipe
    • Primary use: Fuelling stations and hazardous environments

When customers should choose this: They operate gas stations, need ATEX certification, or need extreme weather/environment protection.

Common support scenarios you’ll see:  Can I use this for vending?  (No, wrong protocols - needs Media 4)

    • Fuelling station integration
    • Environmental protection and durability questions
