How to Create Coupons and Coupon Series

Click Promotions

On the dashboard of your Retail Core management suite click the Promotions tab.

Click Coupon Series

In the sub-menu, click on Coupon Series.

Click + Icon

Click + at the top right of the screen.

Fill in Fields

Series is to set the number series.

Type in Code

Create a code for the coupon series to help identify it later.

Name Coupon Series

Name the coupon series.

Coupon Valid Days

The number of days the coupon series will be valid and active.

With or Without Range

Select the checkbox if you want to create one single coupon for this series.

Unselect the checkbox if you want to control the number of coupons created within the series. This is the recommended option.

Fill in the following fields:

Series	Select a number series from the drop down menu.
Code	Create a code for the coupon series to help identify it later.
Name	Name the coupon series. Ex. Christmas coupons
Coupon valid days	The number of days the coupon series will be valid/active. Ex. 30 (valid for a month)
Without range	Select the checkbox if you want to create one single coupon for this series. Unselect the checkbox if you want to control the number of coupons created within the series. This is the recommended option. Once unselected: Coupons range from – the number the coupon count begins on. Ex. 1001 Coupons range to – the number the coupon count ends on. Ex. 1100 (this creates a limit of 100 coupons. If you want more coupons, enter a higher limit)
Coupon as voucher	Select this checkbox if the coupon is a monetary value (ex. $10 off) Unselect this checkbox if the coupon is a percent discount. This allows customers to use the coupon to the fullest. Ex. If a customer has a coupon for $10 but they only purchase something for $6, they can return another time and use the remaining $4.

Click Create

Click Create button once you're ready to proceed.

In the sub menu under Promotions, go to Coupons

Then proceed back to the sub menu under Promotions, click on Coupons as highlighted in RED on the visual.

Number the Coupon

Number the coupon like an item code to identify the coupon.

Select Coupon Series

In the previous steps, we created a number series. Associate the series created by selecting it in the drop down menu as highlighted in RED on the visual.

Locked Field

For Locked field, This setting locks the coupon for the time being from a specific date until the date the coupon should begin to allow the creation of coupons in advance.

Reserved

For Reserved field select this to reserve coupons. If this is selected, you cannot lock coupons.

Fill in the following fields:

Number	Number the coupon being created.
Series	In the previous steps, we created a number series. Associate the series created by selecting it in the drop down menu.
Partner Code	This does not need to be selected...
Locked	This setting locks the coupon for the time being (from a specific date until the date the coupon should begin) to allow the creation of coupons in advance.
Reserved	Select this to reserve coupons. If this is selected, you cannot lock coupons.

After these steps you need to allocate the coupon series to a Promotion. From the side menu click on Promotion, and then click on Promotions from the sub menu as highlighted RED on the visual.

Now to select the promotion from the pop up screen click on Coupon discount as highlighted in RED on the visual.

Name the Promotion

Fill in the following fields as highlighted in RED on the visual, Description and Printing Name is the Name of the promotion

Promo Group

For Promo group You can select a promotional group; this will allow you to manage your promotions more easily.

Set Priority

For Priority, If there are other promotions, which priority does this coupon created receive.

Set Max Multiply

For Max multiply, The amount of coupons a customer can use in one purchase.

Set Dates, Days & Times

Set a date, time and days of the week for the promotion.

Pro tip - Click on the calendar icon as highlighted in BLUE on the visual for the pop up calendar and clock.

Set Happy Hour

If the coupon applies to happy hour or a specific time in the day, adjust the start and end time in this section.

Pro tip: Click on the clock icon as highlighted in BLUE on the visual for the pop up clock.

Calculation Type

Price calculation type gives three options, by promotion value this is the recommended choice as it allows for the promo value you created to be active. Percentage deduction or by value without VAT.

For this example we're choosing the by promotional value.

Buy type	Explained	Value
Buy Quantity	Buying 2 coffees and third one free in the same purchase.	How many products the customer needs to buy to get the promotion. Ex. Buy one/two/three...
Buy Sum	Buying over a specific amount in order to use the coupon.	The amount of money needed to be spent. Ex. Spend $20 or more to use!

.Percent: the coupon is a percent discounted

Select the type of items to be included in the coupon.

In Type you can either select a broad category to include multiple items or select specific items by selecting item code.

Once you select the Type, the value will open up. Select the value of the items to include.

Ex. Type: Item code/ Value: Americano

If I want to include all types of coffee's in this coupon deal, I can click add (to the right) and add them one by one or in Type choose the category for hot drinks.

Pro tip! You can scroll through the options of categories by clicking the arrows as highlighted in RED on the visual.
