General
Welcome to Marshall Protocols
The Marshall Protocol provides the technical backbone for connecting a payment terminal to a self-service machine's control system, enabling seamless, automated, and secure cashless transactions in unattended retail environments.
Nayax provides different Marshall configurations to suit various machine types and business needs.
Choose the right payment flow for your machine!
The most common are:
- Single Session: One product. One customer. One transaction. Perfect for vending machines, kiosks, and ticket dispensers where customers buy one item at a time. Simple, fast, and reliable.
- Pre-authorization: A setting where a payment is authorized for a certain amount before a service is fully rendered, which is common in fuel pumps.
- Always Idle with Pre-selection: A configuration for vending machines where the Nayax device is always active and a customer selects an item before paying.
- Multi Session with Pre-selection: Multiple customers. Multiple transactions. All at once. Built for high-traffic equipment like EV chargers, lockers, and rental stations where a customer selects an item first, before initiating payment.
